Mumbai: As part of investigation in the stabbing case, Mumbai Police collected actor Saif Ali Khan’s blood sample and clothes that he was wearing on the night of the attack at his residence.
As per the remand copy of the accused, blood stains were found on the clothes worn by Shariful Islam when he entered Saif’s Bandra home in the early hours of January 16. Mumbai Police will compare Saif’s blood samples with the stains found on the attacker’s clothes and see if they match.
Saif and the attacker’s clothes and blood samples have been sent to the Forensic Lab (FSL) for analysis.
Meanwhile, Bandra Magistrate Court on Friday extended the police custody of the accused till January 29.
Expressing their suspicion of more people being involved in Saif’s stabbing, Mumbai Police had appealed for an extension of the custody of the accused.
On Wednesday, Mumbai Police collected several fingerprints of the accused from Saif’s residence, including stairs of the building, door handle of Jeh’s room and door of the toilet.
Saif was attacked by an intruder during a burglary attempt last week. The actor sustained multiple injuries and was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent multiple surgeries.
