Bhubaneswar: Come December 14, a month-long international coastal festival will kick start near Konark in Puri district,
The much-touted Marine Drive Eco Retreat festival will be held at Kushabhadra estuary near Ramchandi off the Puri-Konark marine drive to attract more foreign tourists to Odisha and popularise the state’s tourism potential.
According to officials, a host of events will be organised to showcase Odisha’s rich heritage. Besides a wide range of cultural extravaganza, tourists can also participate in other events like food festival, 3D mapping, adventure sports and water sports. They can also relish local cuisines and dishes from across the globe during the month-long festival.
Besides, temporary luxury tent cottages will be set up to accommodate visitors.
“The work for setting up of temporary cottages is going on and it will be completed by December 10. Booking of the cottages is underway and so far 100 cottages have been booked. Efforts are on to popularise the festival,” said tourism secretary Vishal Dev.
“There will be facilities for night stay of tourists and various water sports. Besides, we are also setting up a Spa near the beach,” Dev said on Sunday after a review of the preparations on Sunday.
Tourism director Sachin Jadhav and other senior officials were also present during the review.
