Bhubaneswar: After the launch of Bhubaneswar-Jharsuguda services at Rs 2,300, Star Air, a regional airline, on Saturday announced direct flights from the industrial town of Odisha to Bengaluru from August 23.
The airline will operate two weekly flights between Jharsuguda and Bengaluru on Wednesday and Saturday. The flight S5607 from Bengaluru will depart at 3.35 pm and arrive at Veer Surendra Sai Airport in Jharsuguda at 5.45 pm. The return flight will take off from Jharsuguda at 8.40 pm and reach Bengaluru at 10.50 pm.
With this, two airlines IndiGo and Star Air will operate Bengaluru – Jharsuguda – Bengaluru sector flight.
Bhubaneswar-Jharsuguda flight schedule
The airline will operate flights between Bhubaneswar and Jharsuguda four times in a week – Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
The flight S5 605 will take off from Jharsuguda at 7.20 pm and arrive at Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar at 8.05 pm. The return flight, S5 606, will depart from Bhubaneswar at 8.30 pm and reach Jharsuguda at 9.15 pm on the same day.
Additionally, a mid-day service will run on Wednesdays, with S5 605 departing Jharsuguda at 11.20 am and reaching Bhubaneswar at 12.05 pm. The return flight will take off from Bhubaneswar at 12.30 pm and reach Jharsuguda at 1.15 pm.
In September, fares are as low as Rs 1,556 on most days. This service will be available till October 26.
These new routes are part of the airline’s broader strategy to expand beyond UDAN 5.0 routes and reach more commercial destinations.
