New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the Indian cricket team shortly after it defeated Australia at the Gabba on Tuesday.
India won the fourth and the final test of the series with three wickets, clinching the series 2-1 to lift the Border-Gavaskar trophy.
“We are all overjoyed at the success of the Indian Cricket Team in Australia. Their remarkable energy and passion was visible throughout. So was their stellar intent, remarkable grit and determination. Congratulations to the team! Best wishes for your future endeavours,” the PM tweeted after the historic win.

A virtual celebration began on Twitter with a large number of political leaders among others putting out congratulatory messages, reported NDTV.
