Mumbai: Amid the ongoing legal feud with stepdaughter Esha Verma, ‘Anupamaa’ actress Rupali Ganguly recently celebrated her 12th marriage anniversary with Ashwin K. Verma.
The actress took to her Instagram handle to thank Ashwin for his constant love and support.
Meanwhile, Esha took to her social media handle to slam the actress for scheduling the next court hearing on her birthday.
Expressing her disappointment, her stepdaughter shared a cryptic note for Rupali on her Instagram stories, in which she addressed her as ‘evil.’
“Ty to the evil step lady for scheduling the next court date on my bday muah,” Esha wrote.
However, when a screenshot of her Instagram story was shared by a news portal, Esha clarified that she was sending the note to one of her friends, when it accidentally got posted on her stories.
“I use my socials to connect with my friends and share my thoughts — it’s always been a personal space for me. I was just typing out my feelings before bed and had meant to send it to a close friend, but it accidentally went to my story. I wasn’t trying to start anything or make this public — it was just me processing my emotions in the moment,” Esha wrote in the comment section.
“Seeing my court date fall on my birthday has been overwhelming, and I was simply expressing my frustration. It’s exhausting to be constantly monitored, and frustrating to see casual posts turned into headlines,” she added.
Esha is Ashwin’s daughter from his second wife Priyanka Verma.
The feud between Esha and Ashwin’s third wife Rupali started last year after she alleged that the actress was a homewrecker, who dated her father when he was still married.
Following this, Rupali filed a Rs 50-crore defamation case against Esha.
In January 2025, the Bombay High Court restrained Esha and all digital platforms from publishing or sharing defamatory content against Rupali.
Addressing Esha’s claims at an event, Rupali said, “If I say it doesn’t affect (me), it will be a lie. Of course, it affects (me). We are all human beings. It hurts when they say bad things, even behind my back. Those who love me will continue to do so. I believe in doing good deeds because then good things will happen to you now or in the future. Sometimes a bad phase does come, and bad things do happen, but good always wins over that.”
