Kamakhyanagar: Two persons, including a student, sustained injuries in a bombing incident at Kamakhyanagar College in Dhenkanal district on Saturday.
According to available information, a student of the college along with five outsiders hurled bombs at fellow student, identified as Sangram Nayak, and his friend Sanjeev Nayak while they were standing under a tree inside the college campus.
Sanjeeb had reportedly come to the college to drop Sangram.
Both of them were injured and admitted to the district headquarters hospital for treatment.
Later, the injured student alleged that the attack was an attempt to abduct him.
“Though the exact reason behind the attack is unclear, police and college staff suspect that the incident could be the fallout of past enmity ahead of the students’ union elections,” principal of the college Arabindakant Rai informed.
