Bhubaneswar: SAI International Residential School recently conducted its Investiture ceremony for the academic session 2023-24 in style.
The ceremony, which commenced with the rendition of ‘SAI Vandana’, saw the appointment of the school’s fresh batch of office bearers, who were bestowed with their respective responsibilities.
Krrish Khaitan and Sneha Somani were appointed as Head Boy and Head Girl, respectively. The newly-appointed office bearers took an oath, pledging their commitment to fulfil their duties with utmost sincerity and dedication.
Dr Sudhanshu Sarangi, Odisha government’s Director General of Fire & Emergency Services, graced the function as Chief Guest.
Dr Sarangi had an interactive session with the students, engaging with them on various topics and encouraged them to be responsible and empathetic individuals so that they could make a positive impact on society.
Dr Sarangi shared invaluable insights with students, emphasizing the significance of their roles as office bearers and their potential to make a difference.
“Leadership is not just a title, it is a responsibility bestowed upon you to serve your peers and the institution. Remember that you are the torchbearers of change and progress. In your pursuit of excellence, never lose sight of the values of gratitude and compassion. Listen to the concerns and aspirations of your fellow students, and let empathy guide your decisions. Your student council should be a force that fosters unity and brings positive transformations. Stay true to your passions, and with unwavering dedication, strive to build an environment where every student feels heard, valued, and empowered,” said Dr Sarangi.
In her address, SAI International School Chairperson Dr Silpi Sahoo said: “Running for the student council isn’t just joining a group, it’s embarking on an unparalleled journey to become assertive leaders driving positive change. Beyond school, this transformation shapes you for college, workplaces, and future entrepreneurship. Embrace Gandhi’s wisdom, ‘Be the change you wish to see in the world.’ As leaders, embody accountability, morals, collaboration, and humility. Embrace diverse perspectives and the power of ‘Please, Sorry and Thank You’ in your endeavours. Congratulations and let us march towards a better tomorrow, hand in hand.”
