Bhubaneswar: Over 300 students from different parts of the country are participating in the three-day Model United Nations (MUN) programme organized by the SOA University, beginning Friday.
The programme was inaugurated by former Judge of High Court of Orissa Justice A S Naidu, who described it as a mock world parliament that provided the students a platform to deliberate on global issues. “You will learn more than what you do in classroom during these three days,” he said.
Eminent lawyer and former Chairman of the Odisha State Bar Council Dr. Manas Ranjan Mohapatra presented the keynote address at the inauguration which was presided over by the university’s Vice-Chancellor Prof Amit Banerjee.
“SOA MUN’17 is an educational simulation providing a platform for students to learn about diplomacy, international relations and the functioning of the United Nations,” Prof Banerjee said.
