Bhubaneswar: Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) in Odisha capital achieved 100% success in annual Plus II Science and Commerce examinations whose results were announced by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) on Wednesday.
Minakshi Mallick was the KISS topper in Science by securing 88% marks, while Pitabas Tiaka topped in Commerce with 80%. As many as 31 students from particularly vulnerable tribal groups (PVTGs) passed in the Science stream, out of which 18 have secured first division. In the commerce stream, 18 PVTGs students passed including 11 in first division.
Minakshi, who hails from a poor family in Baliguda of Kandhamal district, was the district topper in the 10th Board examination. Kandhamal district administration had requested Kandhamal MP and KISS founder Dr Achyuta Samanta to help Minakshi in her higher education in KISS. She was admitted to KISS in the Plus II Science stream. With an ambition to be a doctor, she has appeared at NEET examination this year.
Congratulating Minakshi, Dr Samanta expressed his profound joy over her performance. He also congratulated other students and said one can achieve his/her goal with determination and dedication.
