Students Walk For Heritage Conservation In Odisha Capital
Bhubaneswar: To spread the message on preserving and promoting sites of historical and cultural importance in Odisha, students of different schools in the city participated in a heritage walk on Wednesday.
The event organised by Odia Language, Literature and Culture Department marked the annual World Heritage Day, celebrating international monuments and sites.
Inaugurating the walk, culture minister Ashok Chandra Panda said, “People from all walks of life, especially children and youths, should join hands to protect and promote the ancient monuments and cultural heritage sites scattered across the city and hand over the same to the future generation.”
Traditional instruments in Telengi Baja and artistes performing Ghoda Nacha and Sambalpuri folk dance accompanied the walk taken out from Rajarani Temple to Ekamra Bana, covering Mukteswar, Swarna Jaleswar, Koti Tirtheswara, Ananta Basudev, Lingaraj and Boital, among other temples.
