Bhubaneswar: Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Sunday asserted that the Odisha government will launch Subhadra Yojana within 100 days.
“The scheme is in the drafting stage after the getting the Cabinet nod. It will be rolled out within 100 days and women beneficiaries will get the Rs 50,000 assistance,” she told reporters.
Parida said that the Woman and Child Development department is ready to implement the scheme. “Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo is attending the GST council meeting and must have apprised the Centre about the scheme. But the Odisha government will implement the scheme without waiting for anyone. We have the required budget to provide the assistance to all women of the state,” she added.
On Saturday, KV sought partial funding from the Centre to implement the Subhadra scheme, one of the main pledges made by the BJP in its Sankalp Patra (election manifesto) for Odisha, during the pre-budget meeting and GST council meeting chaired by Union Finance Minister Niramala Sitharaman in New Delhi.
“The state government is in the process of rolling out Subhadra Yojana, under which every woman will receive a voucher of Rs 50,000 to be encashed over a period of two years. This is an innovative initiative aimed at empowering women and enhancing entrepreneurship among women,” he said.
The primary goal of the scheme is to improve the standing of women in the community and provide them with financial independence.
