Bhubaneswar: Chairperson of Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA) Subroto Bagchi has resigned from his post.
In a post on his official Twitter handle, Bagchi said that he took the decision after coming to know that the L&T company was trying to take over the ownership of his IT company, Mindtree. He said it was his responsibility to bail out his own company from being taken over by another company.
An imminent threat of hostile takeover of Mindtree has made me to resign from the Government to be able to go, save the company. I must protect the Tree from people who have arrived with bulldozers & saw chains to cut it down so that in its place, they can build a shopping mall.

Bagchi said that he will leave for Bengaluru at the earliest to resolve the crisis.
Notably, the state government had appointed Bagchi as the OSDA chairperson in 2016 with the rank of a cabinet minister to hone the skills of the youths of the state to help them get better employment opportunities in the country and abroad.
