Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government would take up development Vedvyas temple near Rourkela in Sundargarh district with various amenities soon.
Secretary (5T) to chief minister VK Pandian visited the shrine on Saturday and held discussion with Vedvyas Temple Trust Board members, ‘sevayats’ (servitors) and local people. Necessary amenities for comfortable visit of the devotees were discussed.
The servitors stressed on development of Swargadwar on the temple premises and the river bank near the temple. Construction of a Yatri Biwas for comfortable stay of the devotees and facility of a light & sound show also figured in the discussion.
Pandian said the state government aims at development of Vedvyas, which is a popular and important religious place in western Odisha. Besides people from Odisha, visitors from neighbouring Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand also come to Vedvyas for holidaying.
He stressed on updating the infrastructure of the shrine and the place around it and told Sundargarh district collector Parag Harshad Gavali to prepare a detailed plan and present it before the chief minister for his approval. Commissioner of Rourkela Municipal Corporation (RMC) Subhankar Mohapatra was also present.
