Rourkela: Four persons, including an employee of Sundargarh Medical College & Hospital, were arrested on Sunday in connection with a fake job racket.
The accused persons have been identified as Chaitanya Tanti, the Sundargarh MCH staff from Kalobahal, broker Sushant Majhi from Tasaladihi, Madan Gardia from Mahulpali and Asish Nayak from Sundargarh. The four had duped several job aspirants with fake promises of jobs in the state-run medical college.
They were part of a major fake job racket and another accused, identified as Hemant Nayak, was the run, Sundargarh Town Police said, adding that several materials including computer, printer and fake documents were seized from a shop owned by accused Asish Nayak at Mission Road.
According to sources, the accused collected Rs 40,000 to 80,000 from job seekers for various posts by giving them fake appointment letters and joining orders bearing the logo of the Medical College with fake seal and signature of the dean of the institution.
It is alleged that the accused Sushant was providing fake documents and other identities to the aspirants.
