Cuttack: The Millenium City recorded the highest single-day spike of 93 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, which took the affected tally to 579 on Friday.
Among them, 76 are home quarantine, 14 local contacts and three institutional cases.
The Cuttack administration, however, had put the number at 97. It later attributed this mistake to the wrong mention of address. “Three cases come under Niali block and one under Barang Block. So, CMC total becomes 93, Barang-2 and Niali-28,” it tweeted.

Barring two, all 74 cases are linked with previous COVID-19 positive patients.
One Corona Warrior is among the three institutional cases.
On the other hand, the city reported another 6 recoveries, the Cuttack Municipal Corporation tweeted.
With eight deaths and 242 recoveries, Cuttack city now has 329 active cases.
