Mumbai: The second hearing in Sushant Singh Rajput case that was scheduled on Tuesday is currently underway in the Supreme Court.
According to a Republic TV report, during the hearing of Rhea Chakraborty’s plea, seeking transfer of the case from Patna to Mumbai, Justice Hrishikesh Roy asked Rhea’s lawyer Shyam Divan if he wants a CBI probe in the case or not?
To this, advocate Divan stated that the case should first go to Mumbai Police and then, should be handed over to the CBI.
To this, Justice Roy quipped, “You yourself have asked for CBI to come in. How they come in and what happens with it comes later. So your stand becomes that the CBI should come in.”
Rhea’s lawyer alleged that the Bihar government is trying to overlook the jurisdiction in this case.
On August 5, the top court had refused to transfer the FIR from Patna to Mumbai. The apex court also refused to grant interim protection to Rhea stating that allegations levelled against her were “serious in nature”.
The Supreme Court had ordered all the parties to file their replies within 3 days. It had also directed Mumbai Police to submit an updated investigation report of the case.
