Sushant Singh Rajput Was To Shoot For This Film In London This May
Mumbai: Amid speculation that the Bollywood ‘privilege club’ had boycotted Sushant Singh Rajput, forcing him to take the extreme step, filmmaker Rumi Jaffery has revealed that he actor was slated to work with him on a film produced by Vashu Bhagnani.
According to media reports, it was an unnamed romantic comedy film, co-starring Rhea Chakravorty.
The makers were to shoot the film in London this May but had to postpone it following the enforcement of lockdown amid COVID-19 pandemic.
“For the film, Sushant and I met very often in the last one year. He would come home and spend time with my family. I would visit him too,” Jaffery was quoted as saying by the Indian Express.
Besides Rumi’s film, Sushant had also heard an idea from Lahore filmmaker Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan, who had earlier planned Chanda Mama Door Ke with him. The actor was planning to listen to a script over a video meeting this week, the Deccan Chronicle reported.
Sushant was also reportedly signed for Anand Gandhi’s film ‘Emergency’. Earlier, Irrfan Khan was to do the film.
His last movie Dil Bechara alongside debutant Sanjana Sanghi and Saif Ali Khan is yet to be released.
Sushant was found hanging in his Bandra residence on July 14, following which a promising career in Bollywood was cut short.
