Raipur: Upset with the demise of Sushant Singh Rajpur, a 13-years-old girl allegedly committed suicide in Chattisgarh’s Durg district.
An ardent fan of the actor, the Class VII girl was found hanging from the ceiling of her home in sector-7 of Bhilai town on Wednesday evening, the PTI reported.
“A suicide note was recovered from the scene, in which the girl stated that she was taking the extreme step as she was upset about the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput,” said station house officer (SHO) of Bhilai Nagar police station Trinath Tripathi.
The girl was alone at home when the incident happened.
The father of the deceased said that the girl often consumed content related to Sushant Singh Rajput. She was last seen watching ‘Chhichhore’ starring the actor. Ironically, the film aims to prevent suicide among students.
“The victim always looked for news related to the actor, who was found hanging in his Mumbai home on June 14,” the SHO said quoting the girl’s father.
A case has been registered in this regard and further probe is underway, he added.
