Mumbai: After the second Supreme Court hearing in Sushant Singh Rajput case on Tuesday, the late actor’s family has released a 9-page open letter slamming the people who are trying to hide the truth and malign their image.
In the open letter, Sushant’s family has alleged that they have been receiving threats ever since they decided to seek justice for their dear one, reports Times Of India.
“A few years ago, nobody knew Sushant. Neither his family. Today, the entire country is worried and his family is being attacked from all sides,” reads the letter.
Slamming the Mumbai Police for not paying heed to their complaint before Sushant’s demise, the family stated that the officials are “fans of people who speak in English” and they don’t care if an Indian dies.
“A known person is surrounded by thugs and greedy people. The person who is responsible for people’s safety is asked to save them. They are the heirs of English, it doesn’t matter to them if an Indian dies,” they wrote in their letter.
“The biggest question is that why should people believe in those police officers who consider themselves elite and are fans of English-speaking people?” they questioned.
Slamming Sushant’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, who is an accused in the case, the family wrote, “The family couldn’t take it anymore, when after a month of Sushant’s death, some people aided with top lawyers and PR agencies, returned blatantly. They tried to insult Sushant’s memories.”
After a month of Sushant’s death, Rhea had taken to social media to appeal to Home Minister Amit Shah for ordering a CBI probe in the case.
However, now when the Centre has ordered a CBI probe in the case, Rhea moved the Supreme Court to transfer the case from Patna to Mumbai.
After hearing Rhea’s plea on August 11, the apex court has scheduled the next hearing in the case on August 13.
