Mumbai: Siddharth Pithani, a friend and flatmate of the late Sushant Singh Rajput, was sent to 14-day judicial custody on Friday, ANI reported.
Pithani was arrested by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on May 26 in connection with the drug case related to Sushant’s death last June.
Pithani, who stayed in Sushant’s flat in Bandra during lockdown last year, was reportedly one of those who discovered the Bollywood actor’s body on June 14, 2020.
NCB has claimed that Pithani was absconding for long before its Mumbai team got a tip-off and nabbed him from Hyderabad. He was then produced in a court and kept in NCB custody till June 4. He will now be sent to judicial custody.
Almost a year after Sushant’s mysterious death, a multi-agency probe is still ongoing. Besides Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED), NCB is probing drugs angle of the case after ED shared some chats related to purchase and procurement of drugs.
Sushant’s girlfriend Rhea, her brother Showik and some others were arrested by NCB last year in this case before being granted bail.
