Mumbai: Sushant Singh Rajput would have been alive and busy shooting for a romcom with Rhea Chakraborty had shooting not been stalled because of the coronavirus-induced nationwide lockdown, said filmmaker Rumi Jaffery.
In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, screenwriter Rumi stated he was making a film with Sushant and Rhea, shooting for which was scheduled to begin in May.
Sushant had read the script during lockdown and was looking forward to a joint narration.
However, things didn’t work out as planned because of the pandemic and shooting had to be shelved.
“Sushant was looking forward to starting work soon, but the lockdown kept postponing his plans. He would get upset because he wanted to get back to work and rehearse,” said Rumi.
Rumi also revealed that when he learnt about Sushant’s ex-manager Disha Salian’s death, he had texted the actor to take care of himself.
Sushant had replied with four hearts and “love you sir’, promising to catch up soon,” said Rumi.
