Mumbai: In an exclusive interview with Rajdeep Sardesai of India Today, Rhea Chakraborty, who had claimed that Sushant Singh Rajput was suffering from depression, alleged that the actor’s mother was also mentally ill.
Rhea, the prime accused in the Sushant death case, stated that the actor was not able to cope up with the loss of his mother and this led to him being depressed.
The actor had consulted a psychiatrist in 2013 and was even admitted to Hinduja Hospital for treatment.
“Sushant ke depression ka ek bada reason hai ki he wasn’t able to live without his mother. She also struggled with mental illness,” said Rhea.
The Jalebi actress also alleged that Sushant was not close to his father as the latter had left them when the actor was quite young.
“His father left his mother at a young age, and as a kid that affected him. Before I met him, Sushant hadn’t spoken to his father for five years. His relation with his father was always strained,” she said.
