New Delhi: Suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma is untraceable, sources in the Maharashtra Home Department said, adding that the Mumbai Police has been looking for her in Delhi for the last four days, India Today reported.
She had made comments on the Prophet, leading to global outrage.
Mumbai Police’s Pydhonie police station has registered an FIR against Nupur Sharma and sources in the Home Department said the police have enough evidence to place Sharma under arrest. Other than Mumbai police, there are cases registered with the Thane Police Commissionerate against Nupur Sharma for her comments on Prophet Muhammad.
Nupur Sharma was earlier summoned on her email. Now a police team has been sent to give her a physical copy of the same, the publication reported quoting sources. Mumbai Police had registered a case against Sharma on the complaint of the Raza Academy.
Meanwhile, Maharastra Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil was asked about Delhi Police not cooperating in executing summons to Nupur Sharma. He said, “It’s true. Maharashtra police’s attempts are on and Delhi Police should also co-operate,” India Today reported.
