Ganjam: The Ganjam district administration on Monday said that they have sealed a sweet shop for violating lockdown norms.
Notably, the state government had ordered all the district administrations and municipal corporations to allow reopening of standalone and neighborhood shops registered under Odisha Shops & Commercial Establishments Act, 1956 in areas not heavily affected by COVID-19.
The reopening, however, was subject to approval from local administration.
But Rabindra Sahoo, the owner of the sweet shop at Bazaar Sahi, was found violating the government’s directive on social distancing, additional tehsildar Sohon Kumar Behera said.
Sahoo’s shop was sealed and legal action was initiated against him for the violation, Behera added.
