Swine flu cases rise to 84 in state
Bhubaneswar: Fresh cases of swine flu were reported on Thursday with 13 more persons testing positive for the H1N1 virus. With this, the number of those infected rose to 84.
Swab samples of 24 persons were sent to Regional Medical Research Centre this morning, official sources said.
The H1N1 influenza has so far claimed four lives in the state this season.
A woman, identified as Santipriy of Kotian village in Jagatsinghpur district, had died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital here on Wednesday.
The state government had earlier directed government as well as private hospitals to set up special wards with ventilator support to treat swine flu patients.
