‘System Failing Us’, Lament Kolkata Rape-Murder Victim’s Parents After Bail To RG Kar Ex-Principal & Cop

Kolkata: It was a horrible day for the parents whose tears have run dry crying for justice for her brutally murdered doctor daughter at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital four months ago.

The news of Sealdah court granting bail to RG Kar’s former principal Sandip Ghosh and ex-OC of Tala police station Abhijit Mondal devastated the parents.

“We are very disappointed that CBI did not file chargesheet in 90 days… CBI did not work and hence those people got bail. This is very disappointing,” said the father of the junior doctor whose body was found in a semi-naked state on August 9.

The mother said that it seemed like the “system” was failing them.

“We thought the CBI would speed up the investigation and bring those responsible to justice. But now, with the accused being granted bail, it feels like the system is failing us,” PTI quoted her as saying.

“Every day, we wonder if this will be another case in which the powerful escape without punishment,” she added.

The victim’s father said the family is heartbroken.

“We are heartbroken. We trusted the CBI to deliver justice, but now we are left wondering if we will ever see justice for our daughter,” he said.
