Dubai: Virat Kohli lost the toss again in the crucial T20 World Cup match against New Zealand and rival skipper Kane Williamson had no hesitation in deciding to field first.
Kohli said he would have batted second as well, had he called correctly.
It’s a must-win game for both teams after India and New Zealand lost their respective opening games to red-hot Pakistan.
The top two teams will qualify for the semifinals from Group 1, which is virtually a three-horse race among Pakistan, India and New Zealand. Pakistan are sitting pretty with 3 wins in as many games, so whoever wins Sunday night’s clash will be favourites to go through as the second team.
India, playing after a one-week gap, made two changes from the 10-wicket defeat against Pakistan. Left-handed batsman Ishan Kishan replaced Surya Kumar Yadav, who developed a back spasm according to Kohli. And Shardul Thakur came in for Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
