Cuttack: The Orissa High Court on Wednesday granted bail to suspended IFS officer Abhay Kant Pathak and his son Akash in a fraud case registered at Golanthara police station in Odisha’s Ganjam.
They were granted bail on a surety of Rs two lakh with two local solvent sureties each and other conditions.
In February, Golanthara police station had booked the father-son duo in connection with three cases registered against expelled BJD leader and Gopalpur MLA Pradeep Panigrahy.
In March, a single judge bench of Justice SK Sahoo had granted them bail in the case registered on the basis of a complaint filed by Sky King, a Bhubaneswar-based travel agency. The complaint had alleged non-payment of dues of Rs 65 lakh.
Earlier in January, the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, had granted default bail to Abhay and Akash in the disproportionate assets case.
Notably, the father-son duo was arrested in November last year by the anti-corruption wing of Odisha police on charges of accumulating assets disproportionate to their know sources of income.
