Bhubaneswar: Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Abhay Kant Pathak, who is embroiled in a disproportionate assets case, and son Akash were taken to the Capital Hospital here for a medical check-up on Friday.

Speaking on Akash’s assets worth crores, the IFS officer said, “The claims of duping people is false. My son earns Rs 1 crore a month and he didn’t depend on me for his expenditure.”

He also refuted having misappropriated any government money. “There is no corruption involved and everything is legal and will be proved when the time comes,” he added.

The IFS officer is currently serving as the Additional PCCF, Plan, Programme and Afforestation in Odisha.

Akash is accused of cheating people by promising them jobs by falsely claiming to be an MD at TATA Motors.

In a letter to Amitendra Nath Sinha, IG, CID CB, Tata Motors Ltd had complained that Akash had been claiming to be the managing director of Tata Motor, Pune Passenger Division and CEO Designate. He is also using fake employee ID card and visiting card by making illegal use of Tata Motors trademark.

Claiming that such actions amount to criminal conspiracy, cheating, fraud, forgery, impersonation and infringement of trademark and copyrights, Tata Motors requested the IG to trace Akash and take necessary steps to stop his criminal activities.
