Talasari Egg Hurling Case: IPC Section 307 Dropped Against Accused
Balasore: Police on Monday dropped Section 307 of the IPC (attempt to murder) against Rajeswari Kamila, who was arrested after hurling eggs at Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik during Talasari beach festival in Odisha’s Balasore district on January 31.
However, a case registered under Section 353, 332, 294 and 504 of the IPC against the accused will continue, said Balasore SP Niti Sekhar.
Meanwhile, Rajeswari, who was lodged in the Jaleswar Jail, was shifted to the Jaleswar Hospital on Monday. From there, she was shifted to Balasore district headquarters hospital. However, the doctors referred her to SCB Medical College and Hospital stating that her condition had deteriorated further.
Rajeswari was arrested for hurling eggs at the dais of the Chief Minister while he was delivering his speech at the inaugural function of Talasari beach festival at Bhogarai on January 31.
Wife of local BJP leader Dillip Kamila, Rajeswari had hurled eggs protesting the detention of her husband ahead of the visit of the Chief Minister.
She was later remanded to judicial custody by a local court in Jaleswar till February 8.
