Bhubaneswar/Cuttack: The Twin Cities presented contrasting pictures in the way Congress activists enforced the Odisha bandh on Monday.
While bandh supporters descended to hooliganism, rail roko and road blockades at several places in Bhubaneswar, Congress leaders and workers distributed chocolates to commuters in Cuttack.

In one ugly instance in Bhubaneswar, several Congress workers forced an elderly woman to close her roadside stall.
A heated argument erupted between the vendor and the Congress workers when they asked her to close her cart selling snacks.
“Sonia Gandhi and Sura Routray will compensate me in case of any damage to my shop,” the visibly upset woman told the activists.
On the other contrary, Congress leaders in Cuttack claimed that party workers were told not to harass commuters or enforce blockades.
“The bandh is being observed peacefully in Cuttack district. Our workers have been asked not to burn tyres or ransack vehicles while observing the bandh,” a Congress leader said. “We are getting more support from the public than we had expected,” he added.
