Mumbai: Actress Tanushree Dutta has filed an FIR against Rakhi Sawant, accusing her of causing psychological trauma during the #MeToo Movement in 2018.
Days after sharing her trauma by posting a long note on Instagram, the former Femina Miss India Universe decided to take the legal route and lodged a police case at Oshiwara police station.
“I have come here to file an FIR against Rakhi Sawant for the psychological trauma that she caused in 2018 during the Me Too Movement. Several penal codes have been added to the FIR based on multiple videos,” Tanushree told the media on Friday outside the police station.
“We have made a record of each and every statement that she made against me. I have provided them the entire background. This time she won’t be spared. The process has begun… they will take action soon,” Tanushree said.
The ‘Bhagam Bhag’ actress alleged that she couldn’t get married because of Rakhi.
“I went through a lot of emotional and psychological trauma because of Rakhi. She said such terrible things about me I couldn’t take it. Rakhi has a new drama every year to stay in the limelight. She ruined my reputation. She attacked my personal life, I couldn’t get married because of her,” Tanushree said.
On what took her so long to file a case against Rakhi, Tanushree admitted she couldn’t deal with her aggression earlier, “but now I will.”
She said she was alert, and filed the complaint against Nana Patekar in 2008 and 2018.
“Rakhi had made me so unwell and weak because of her cheap videos and allegations against me in 2018. Now that I am back and I have time to take things legal and will make sure Rakhi gets penalised for everything she has done to me.”
Last month too, Tanushree joined Rakhi’s former husband Adil Khan Durrani at a press conference and accused the Bigg Boss contestant of the death of two boys. Tanushree claimed that they died by suicide because they could not fight against the social media figure.
