Bhubaneswar: It’s a brand everyone is talking about, And now it’s available at a café in the Odisha capital. Yes, we are talking about Koraput Coffee.
The latest major boost for the tribal brand comes in the form of the new Koraput Coffee outlet inside the Ekamra Kanan Botanical Garden in Bhubaneswar.
Serving both hot and cold brews of the most delicious authentic Arabic coffee, they also have homemade Ragi cookies and Madia bread from the tribal heartlands as the perfect accompaniment.
With the menu consisting of Espresso, Cappuccino, Café Latte, Black Coffee and Cold Coffee displayed on a rustic blackboard, the café has been seeing healthy throngs of customers since its inception during Christmas week, most of whom came to know about the café from social media, or just wandered into the quaint location while taking a stroll through the park.
People also have a choice of bags of different coffee powders, and impressive filters to take home with them if they really want to invest in the art of making coffee. The café remains open on weekdays from 6 am to 10 am, and 2 pm to 5.30 pm and from 6 am to 5.30 pm on the weekends.
Make sure to visit as soon as possible and save yourself a seat by the lake to really take in the beautiful surroundings of Ekamra Park along with your delicious cup of Koraput Coffee.
Located at 3,000 feet above sea level, and with just the right amount of rainfall, Koraput has been transformed into a haven for coffee cultivation in the last two years by the hard-working tribal farmers of the district.
Backed by the state government and the Tribal Development Cooperative Corporation of Odisha Ltd, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik plans to establish Koraput Coffee as a global venture very soon.
Working towards this initiative, the CM introduced an e-commerce website and social media handles, along with the opening of the Koraput Coffee Café, in Koraput district, on the occasion of International Coffee Day on October 1 this year, and another at Niladri Beach, Puri.
