Hyderabad: Mohammed Siraj, one of the success stories of Team India’s astonishing Test series win Down Under, has gifted himself a BMW car after returning home from the tour of Australia.
Siraj got the chance to make his debut in the second Test at Melbourne, after Mohammed Shami was ruled out of the series.
He went on to play a stellar role in the series triumph, emerging as highest wicket-taker for India in the Test series with 13 scalps including a five-wicket haul in the fourth Test.
Siraj took to Instagram Stories on Friday to share a video showing his new car.
The 26-year-old pacer won hearts when he stayed back with the team after his father passed away on November 20, a week after the Indian contingent arrived in Australia. He was given the option of flying home to attend the burial of his father, but Siraj chose to stay back in Australia.
He was also subject to racial abuse from a section of spectators during the third Test at Sydney Cricket Ground.
