Cuttack: Soumyajeet Mohapatra, boyfriend of software engineer Sweta Utkal Kumari who was found hanging at her rented house in Sailashree Vihar in Bhubaneswar on August 21, has approached the Orissa High Court for anticipatory bail, according to a news report.
Police have registered a case against Soumyajeet under IPC Section 306 (offence of abetment to suicide) on the basis of the complaint lodged by Sweta’s father.
Sweta’s family has alleged that Soumyajeet had been torturing her mentally, physically and financially to the extent that she was forced to commit suicide. Her family has demanded the immediate arrest of Soumyajeet.
