Jajpur: A 14-year-old girl in Odisha’s Jajpur district is battling for her life after suffering critical burns after falling into boiling water while preparing for a bath on Monday.
This incident occurred in Nathapur village under Dharapur gram panchayat in Bari block of Jajpur. The girl, identified as Simran Dalei, was heating water to bathe before leaving for school amid the winter chill early in the morning.
Sources said the Class 9 student toppled into the vessel of boiling water after suddenly feeling dizzy and losing her balance. Family members rescued her and quickly shifted her to the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Bari in Jajpur.
After emergency treatment, she was referred to the district headquarters hospital (DHH) in Jajpur. Her condition remains critical and she is under expert medical supervision.
