Hyderabad A fresh complaint has been filed in Andhra Pradesh’s Khammam district, linking veteran Telugu actor Mohan Babu to the death of 32-year-old Soundarya, who portrayed Radha in Amitabh Bachchan’s Sooryavansham
The popular actress died in a plane crash along with her brother Amarnath in Bengaluru on April 17, 2004, which also killed then Andhra Pradesh CM YS Rajasekhara Reddy. The crash took place when she was en route to a political campaign event in Karimnagar for the Bharatiya Janata Party and Telugu Desam Party.
The complainant, identified as Chittimallu, alleged that Soundarya and her brother had refused to sell six acres of land in Jalpalli village, Shamshabad, to Mohan Babu, leading to a major dispute. Mohan Babu, who is known for his roles as a villain in several South films, forcefully took possession of the land after the fatal crash, New18 reported, quoting the activist, a resident of Satyanarayanapuram village in Khammam Rural Mandal, Khammam district.
The complainant added that the actor has been using the guest house in Jallepalli and demanded that the government take possession of the property. Besides demanding a thorough investigation into the incident, he has also sought police protection, claiming threat from Mohan Babu.
The complaint, submitted to both the Khammam ACP and the District Officer, also mentioned about a police case due to his younger son, Manchu Manoj.
While no FIR has been registered, the veteran actor is yet to respond to the allegations.
