Bhubaneswar: After a wet spell, Odisha is likely to experience hotter days with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting rise in temperatures across the state from March 11.
As per the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar, maximum (day) temperature is likely to gradually rise by 4-6°C during next 3 to 4 days in the state. There will be no large change thereafter.
Similarly, minimum (night) temperature is likely to rise by 2-4°C during next 3 days and no large change thereafter at many places over the state.
The MeT Centre also predicted rain in some areas on Saturday and Sunday. There is a possibility of light rain with lightning in some districts along with south coastal Odisha.
With a cyclonic circulation lying over south Odisha & neighbourhood and the trough from north Odisha to north Coastal Andhra Pradesh becoming less marked, light rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at one or two places over some districts of Odisha from March 14, it said.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam and at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Kalahandi, Malkangiri, Nuapada.
