Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday said that the weather condition in Odisha will change with a gradual rise in the day and night temperature in the next 48 hours.
Informing the media on Thursday, duty officer of the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, Uma Shankar Das said the cold wave condition will prevail at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Cuttack, Angul, Sonepur and Boudh in the next 24 hours till Friday.
“While temperature in the four aforesaid districts will fall by 2-3 degree Celsius, and then witness a gradual rise by 3-5 degree Celsius in the subsequent 24 hours from February 15,” he added.
As the wind pattern is most likely to change from January 15 with the blowing of the wind from the sea, there will be shallow to moderate fog at some places in the state, he said.
Meanwhile, the night temperature recorded in the last 24 hours till 8.30 am on Thursday was lowest in Sonepur at 8.5 degree Celsius while it remained below 10 degree Celsius in Boudh (9.5), Phulbani (8.8) and Angul (9).
