Bhadrak: Around 10 persons were injured, five of them seriously, when two groups clashed over a trivial issue at a village in Odisha’s Bhadrak district, reports said on Sunday.
The incident took place at Ramapalli village under the jurisdiction of Chandbali police station of the district late on Saturday night when two groups entered into a violent clash over construction of a road in the area, they said.
Around 10 people sustained injuries as the rival groups fought a pitched battle using bamboo sticks, crowbar and other weapons.
The injured persons were rushed to the Chandbali hospital. Five of them who had reportedly sustained serious injuries, were later shifted to the district headquarters hospital in Bhadrak, they said.
On being informed, a team of police personnel from Chandbali reached the site and pacified the villagers. Adequate police personnel were deployed in the area in order to prevent any further flare up.
