Mumbai: Sachin Tendulkar has made a passionate appeal to fans to help him find his first car – a Maruti 800, which he bought with the money earned as a professional cricketer.
“My first car was a Maruti 800. Unfortunately, it is not with me right now. I would love to have it back with me again. So, people listening to me, feel free to contact and get in touch,” the Master Blaster expressed his desire during an episode of the talk show ‘In the Sportlight’.
Tendulkar’s passion for four-wheelers is well chronicled. “There was a massive open drive-in movie hall near my house where people used to park their cars and watch the movie, sitting in it. So I, along with my brother, used to stand in our balcony for hours to watch those cars,” the 47-year-old cricketing legend recalled.
Having made his international debut at the tender age of 16, Tendulkar became the only batsman in the history of cricket to notch up 100 international centuries in 2012.
He holds the record for amassing the maximum number of runs in Tests and ODIs, having aggregated 15,837 runs in 198 Tests and 18,426 runs in 463 ODIs.
Tendulkar retired in 2013, but continues to be one of the most popular public figures in India.
