Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay delighted fans by extending birthday wishes to former Team India and Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni, who turned 45.
Vijay’s special post on social media grabbed attention, with fans flooding the comments section and hailing the moment as the ultimate “Thala x Thalapathy” crossover.
“From every resounding whistle that echoes your name to the countless hearts you’ve inspired, your journey has become a cherished part of Tamil Nadu’s sporting emotion!” wrote the actor-turned-politician on X.
Praising Dhoni, Vijay added, “Happy Birthday to our ‘Captain Cool’ Mahendra Singh Dhoni! Your extraordinary cricketing legacy, calm leadership and humble nature continue to inspire generations. Vijay and Dhoni previously met in August 2021 at Chennai’s Gokulam Studios, where they were coincidentally shooting in the same studio complex.
While Vijay was filming Nelson Dilipkumar’s ‘Beast’, Dhoni was there for a television commercial.
The two shared a brief conversation inside Vijay’s vanity van before the actor personally walked the former India captain back to his vehicle.
Interestingly, Vijay had also served as Chennai Super Kings’ brand ambassador during the inaugural IPL season in 2008.
