Bhubaneswar: Odisha KIIT and NIT Rourkela figure in the first 1,000 list of THE World University Rankings 2024 announced on Thursday. Both the universities are in the 601-800 bracket brushing shoulders with Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru University, Banaras Hindu University, Aligarh Muslim University and others. Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan also figures in the 801-1000 bracket.
Times Higher Education (THE) considered 1,904 universities across 108 countries and regions for ranking. This time, the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore has featured in the 201-250 bracket.
Four Indian varsities – Anna University, Jamia Millia Islamia, Mahatma Gandhi University, and Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences – are in the 501-600 bracket.
In the global list, the UK’s University of Oxford is in the top spot, followed by Stanford University and MIT in second and third places.
