There Could’ve Been Some Wrong Decisions, Admits Amit Shah

New Delhi: Union Home minister Amit Shah admitted on Friday that the Central government may have made some wrong decisions. However, the intention of the BJP-headed government can’t be questioned, he added.

“Ho sakta hai faisla galat ho… lekin niyat galat nahi thi (there could have been some wrong decisions but our intent was never wrong),” Shah said while addressing the annual general meeting of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi last month apologised to the country for failing to convince farmers about the real objectives of the agricultural laws and announced withdrawal off all three laws over which farmers had been agitating for more than a year.

Without dwelling on the controversial farm laws, Shah sought to highlight the positives under Modi government, which came to power in 2014 and is midway into its second term.

“Even critics would agree that the country has seen a lot of changes in the last seven years. No allegation of corruption has surfaced against our government,” he claimed.

Shah said he is hopeful of India emerging as the fastest-growing economy in the world.

“I won’t be surprised if our economic growth accelerates to double-digit,” he said.
