Mumbai: Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor have shared screen space in several films over the years, winning audiences with their chemistry both on and off screen.
Recently, Saif opened up about the possibility of collaborating with his wife again, sharing a candid, humorous take that quickly caught fans’ attention.
In a conversation with Variety India, Saif revealed that comfort is one of the main reasons he and Kareena do not work together often.
Explaining his perspective, he shared that he feels
“discomfort and conflict leads to good chemistry,” adding that too much comfort on set can affect a performance.
“Comfort and ease; especially if I’m more worried about her comfort, that’s not a good way to act,” he said.
Talking about casting real-life couples in a project, Saif said, “I’ve always felt it’s very easy to offer something boring. There’s nothing as boring as a nice off-screen couple coming on screen together.”
Speaking about the Netflix ‘Murder Mystery’ franchise, Saif shared, “I keep thinking of that murder mystery which I saw Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler do.”
“Husband and wife rekindling the excitement in their marriage through a murder mystery… that was kind of fun. So maybe there’s something out there like that.”
Saif also spoke about the possibility of working with Kareena in the future, saying any such collaboration would need to be handled carefully to avoid repeating past challenges, while emphasising his deep admiration for her talent.
Calling it an “honour” to share screen space with her, Saif added, “She’s a phenomenal actor and a phenomenal presence.”
