Bhubaneswar: Despite a marginal fall in day temperature in Odisha on Monday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said the mercury in most parts of the state will soar from next week. Heat wave condition will prevail over nine districts in the next 24 hours, the IMD added.
The IMD in its evening bulletin said the districts of Khurda, Cuttack, Angul, Boudh, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak and Nayagarh will experience heat wave during the next 24 hours as the day temperature will soar by 5 degree Celsius.
The Met department has advised people to take precautionary measures while going out between 11 am and 3 pm.
Meanwhile, Baripada and Talcher recorded the highest maximum temperature of 39.8 degrees Celsius each while it remained temperature remained close to 40 degrees in Cuttack (38), Bhubaneswar (39), Angul (39.7), Jharsuguda (38.6), Sambalpur (38.6), Hirakud (38.5), Balangir (39), Titlagarh (38.5), Malkangiri (38), Sonepur (38), Nayagarh (38) and Boudh (39.5).
