Third Death Threat In A Week: Why Is Gautam Gambhir Being Targeted By ISIS?

New Delhi: Gautam Gambhir received another death threat from ISIS Kashmir on Sunday, the third in a week.

In the latest email, the terrorist group mentioned Delhi Police also, ANI reported.

Why is the BJP Parliamentarian from East Delhi and former Team India opener being targeted by ISIS?

Delhi Police is probing the matter with all seriousness, but is yet to ascertain a reason why the terrorist group is after Gambhir and his family.

The cyber cell and a special cell of Delhi Police reportedly traced the first two emails, sent earlier this week, to an IP address in Pakistan’s Karachi.

The identity of the sender has not yet been established.

The cricketer-turned-politician approached police on Wednesday after receiving the first email from ‘ISIS Kashmir’. Urging police to register a First Information Report, Gambhir had sought enhanced protection.

Delhi Police didn’t waste time in beefing up security around Gambhir’s Delhi residence, and a probe was ordered.

Shortly afterwards, Gambhir claimed to have received a second email that had a video footage attached from outside his residence.
