Bhubaneswar: Dhenkanal has occupied the third spot in the government thinktank NITI Aayog’s delta ranking of the aspirational districts. The district has been ranked in the health and nutrition sector for January 2021.
Kiphire of Nagaland led the chart in the sector while Bihar’s Nawada secured the second spot.
As per data, Dhenkanal scored 77 out of 100 in the health and nutrition sector in January 2021. The score was 74.8 in December 2020.
As far as the education sector is concerned, the district is ranked 20th while in the agricultural and water resources sector, the ranking is 22.
“We are happy to improve our rank and such gestures instill a sense of confidence in us. We will try harder and definitely make attempts to improve our ranking in the months to come,” a senior district level officer was quoted as saying by The Times of India.
