Khurda: Three people have been arrested on Tuesday in connection with the murder of a youth in Odisha’s Khurda.
The youth was allegedly hacked to death in Mukundaprasad area of Khurda, on August 25. The arrested youths belong to Puri and Khurda, sources said.
In this case, one Sheik Sajid was brutally attacked with a sword after a group of miscreants allegedly broke into his garage. Sajid was declared dead at the hospital.
The case was attributed to past rivalry, sources added.
Following the murder, tension prevailed in Khurda town during which irate locals damaged 20 vehicles.
DG Police YB Khurania and Director Intelligence Soumendra Priyadarshi reached the spot and took stock of the situation.
The DGP appealed the people not to take the law into hands and advised them to maintain peace in the area.
