Lucknow: Three Dalit sisters, including two minors, were attacked with an inflammable liquid, suspected to be acid, while they were sleeping on the second floor of their house in Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda district on Monday night.
The girls, aged 8, 12 and 17 years, have been admitted to the Gonda district hospital where they are under treatment. The eldest sister suffered major injuries on the face and chest while the other two sustained minor injuries on their hands.
Police officers said that as per the preliminary inquiry, it is believed that the liquid was thrown from the open window of the house. No arrests have been made yet and the investigation is on.
